At Barings his lead management responsibility was for the £8m Emerging Market Opportunities Fund. He was also a member of its global emerging market equities team that currently runs £2.6bn of GEM assets.
Julio’s Emerging Market Opportunities Fund has been run since he handed in his notice a couple of months ago by William Palmer who was hired in October last year as a senior investment manager. Barings is currently recruiting a replacement for Julio’s role as part of the firm’s GEM team.
At Ignis he will be working across both institutional and mutual fund mandates.
