Draaisma (pictured) spent six years as a global equity strategist at Blackrock, focusing on portfolio management and asset allocation. He was also managing director and portfolio manager.

Prior to Blackrock, he was a portfolio manager at TT International and before that, European equity strategist at Morgan Stanley from 1997 to 2010, where he ran the European Equity Strategy team and worked with Ben Funnell from 1997 to 2006.

In his new role at Man Group, Draaisma will be reunited with Funnell,  head of the Man Dynamic Alpha team, to develop a multi-asset strategy.

Funnell said: “Investors are facing an inflection point, where asset valuations are at multi-decade highs and the global risk-free rate has rarely been lower than it is today.

“In this environment, we believe a multi-asset strategy which seeks to dynamically allocate across asset classes, has the potential to offer valuable diversification away from pure equity beta.

“Teun and I have known each other for over 20 years, and his insights and expertise will be fundamental as we develop this strategy for our clients.”

Draaisma will be based in London and said he is looking forward to “re-establishing” his partnership with Funnell.
