Digital investment platform provider Multrees Investor Services has appointment Magnus Carlsson (pictured) as a non-executive director.

Carlsson has a wealth of experience in the industry, having joined Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) in 1993. During his near three-decade career at the Stockholm-headquartered bank, he occupied various senior management roles, including deputy president and CEO from 2014 to 2021. A member of SEB’s executive committee since 2004, he has also been head of project and structured finance, and head of corporate clients at the firm.

Prior to SEB, Carlsson spent 13 years at Bank of Nova Scotia, and was based periodically in London, Toronto, New York and Oslo.

Multrees CEO Chris Fisher said: “We are very excited to welcome Magnus to the board. As someone with deep knowledge and decades of experience in corporate and retail financial services, including the business of global custody, he is a significant asset to Multrees and its growth ambitions”

Carlsson added: “I am delighted to have joined the board of Multrees as the business scales up and executes its ambitious plans for growth. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the board and Multrees’ senior team during this exciting time for the company.”

Multrees has been shoring up its strength with various new senior appointments as it executes on its business development strategy in what has been a difficult first half of 2022 for the platforms sector. The firm hired ex-Barclays wealth boss Ian Catherall earlier this year, alongside Martyn Johnson, a former data strategist at JP Morgan, to oversee its growth plans.
