He will report to Nigel Spray, managing director of principle investments and advisory, and will be involved in advising clients on business development including raising debt, equity or partnering with co-investors.
Thatcher joins the firm after 20 years at Macquarie, where he was managing director from 2008 – 2013. He has also worked at Davidson Kempner Capital Management and Rothschild.
A spokesperson said there were no other new hires to be announced in the immediate future as part of the expansion of this sector of the business.
