Having started in his newly-created role on 6 January, Chua is heading the London-based emerging corporate bonds team.
He was previously a fund manager in the Asian bond team for Schroder Investment Management in Singapore, working closely with Rajeev De Mello, lead manager of the Schroder Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund.
Chua began his career as a credit analyst in 1996 with Axa Investment Managers.
“Luke's arrival completes the emerging corporate bonds team at Pictet Asset Management. During 2013 we also recruited two analysts – Anya Kopyleva and Ivan Fernandez – and a client portfolio manager – Karen Lam,” Alain-Nsiona Defise, head of emerging corporate bond at Pictet Asset Management said.
