Following a number of listings this morning from UBS, the total of exchange-traded products listed in London has passed the 1,000 mark.

UBS this morning listed 64 new ETFs – itself the largest number listed in a single day – across a range of indices including the FTSE, MSCI, Standard & Poor’s, Markit iBoxx and Euro Stoxx. Between them they track European, Asian and emerging market equities as well as fixed income and commodity markets.

The first London-listed ETF was in 2000 and the breakdown is now 644 ETFs, 316 ETCs (commodities) and 46 ETNs (notes). They have been listed by 17 different issuers and, as at 26 June, the cumulative total value traded in ETPs is £500.8bn.
