Straatman joined the investment manager in 2012 as global CIO tasked with developing its multi-boutique structure and investment strategies.

He will remain as an adviser to the firm and sit on the fund’s boards following his retirement.

Hubert Keller, chief executive at Lombard Odier IM, said: “Jan has been a valuable member of the Lombard Odier IM management team over the last five years.

“His hard work, deep understanding of investment processes and risk management, and his very effective management style has considerably helped us to achieve this goal. I wish him well as he embarks on this new chapter in his life.”

Responsibilities currently held by Straatman will gradually be shared out to the CIOs of the firm’s boutiques over the course of the year.

Straatman was previously CIO at a number of investment firms prior to joining Lombard Odier, including Achmea Asset Management, Pearl Holding Group and ING Investment Management.
