Lightman Investment Management has enlisted Liontrust’s George Boyd-Bowman as fund manager for European equity portfolios, where he will be reunited with its founder Rob Burnett.

Boyd-Bowman has worked in asset management for the past 13 years after gaining his degree from the University of Oxford. Boyd-Bowman was a fund manager at Neptune Investment Management through its transition to Liontrust, where he first worked alongside Burnett.

“We are delighted to have George join us,” Burnett said. “He is an experienced and very thoughtful investor with a deep understanding of markets. He is a great addition to the team.”

London-based firm Lightman was founded in 2019 and, as of October 2023, held £975m in assets under management. It manages two funds, the WS Lightman European fund (UK OEIC) and the Lightman European Equities fund (Lux SICAV), which were launched in March 2019 and September 2020, respectively. The OEIC holds an elite rating from FundCalibre and the Luxembourg fund is filed under SFDR Article 8.

Burnett founded the company after managing European equities at Neptune for 13 years. This year the team also expanded with the hiring of Rajan Sharma as chief technology officer, who has experience with S&P global, IHS Markit and PwC.
