Liontrust Asset Management has appointed former Atomos portfolio manager Anthony Chemla as a fund manager within its multi-asset team.

During his seven years at Atomos, formerly Sanlam Wealth, Chemla (pictured) was lead manager of the wealth manager’s DFM portfolios, and was co-manager of its managed portfolio service.

Beforehand, Anthony worked for B Capital, a Switzerland-based multi-family office, where he was responsible for investment analytics, portfolio management and solutions for ultra-high-net-worth clients.

His earlier roles include fund selection for discretionary and advisory clients at Williams de Broe and fund research at Bfinance, where he focused on equities and alternative funds.

At Liontrust, he joins a team that manages and advises on £5bn of assets, and he will work alongside team head John Husselbee, and deputy-head James Klempster.

Husselbee said: “Anthony is a great addition to the Multi-Asset team, bringing a breadth of experience, knowledge and insights into portfolio construction, manager selection and investment markets.

“He will add significant value to the team in managing our broad ranges of funds and portfolios, helping us to meet client expectations and maximise returns within each risk profile.”

The move follows Liontrust’s January appointment of Hymans Robertson as strategic asset allocation provider, and Defaqto as risk profile oversight services provider.
