The two are well used to working together as they were co-managers of the company’s Appreciation strategy between 1995 and 2009.
Glasser is also co-manager of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Appreciation (with Mary Jane McQuillen and Michael Kagan), ESG Large Cap Growth (with McQuillen and Peter Bourbeau) and All Cap Growth strategies.
He was previously a member of the management and risk committees, co-manager of the Dividend Strategy product and will now also hand over the Large Cap Growth strategy to co-manager Bourbeau and Margaret Vitrano.
Before joining ClearBridge, Glasser was a fixed income credit analyst for Bear Stearns and, from 1993, a consumer analyst and then portfolio manager with Shearson Lehman Brothers, described as a ClearBridge “predecessor”.
The company, the largest equity manager within the Legg Mason group of companies, is also to change its name to ClearBridge Investments by January next year.
