Lee will take over the firm’s bespoke portfolio service from Dennis Phillips, who plans to retire in July, he will also remain a senior member of the Ashburton asset allocation team.

He will be supported by Nick Skiming who moves across from Ashburton’s Americas Equity Fund in a move that will see him "returning to his original career focus of portfolio management" with private clients.

Prior to joining Ashburton in 1988, Lee worked for the investment Management team at Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Once at Ashburton he ran the firm’s international equity fund for many years before taking on responsibility for the entire investment team.

Peter Bourne, MD at Ashburton, said: "The transfer of two of our most senior investment professionals to the portfolio management division demonstrates the depth of Ashburton’s investment team and we are fortunate to be able to leverage their expertise across the firm.

"Ashburton has a long history of serving private clients, and all our senior investment team have experience of delivering high quality, highly personalised portfolios."
