Lanning will oversee the JPM Elite Portfolios and JPM Fusion Fund suites that have been built by the JP Morgan Adviser Solutions investment team. The ranges were announced last month as part of the group’s new investment outsourcing solution.

JPM Elite Portfolios consists of six whole-of-market and actively managed portfolios, which are risk graded and run on a discretionary basis, while the JPM Fusion Funds range comprises five whole-of-market funds of funds positioned at key points on the risk spectrum.

Lanning, who is currently the lead manager of the £158.14m Henderson Multi-Manager Absolute Return Fund, will leave Henderson at the end of January next year. His fund management responsibilities will be taken up by Bill McQuaker, head of multi-asset at Henderson.

A spokesperson for the asset manager said: “Since joining Henderson in April 2011, Tony has been a valued member of the Multi-Asset team. Whilst we are sorry that he is leaving we wish him well for the next step in his career.”

The company added it will announce “a number of senior hires” for its multi-asset team in the near future.
