Kleinwort Hambros reveals head of wealth and adds five to team

Pensions specialists among ‘strategic’ hires to meet demand for ‘holistic’ advice

Kleinwort Hambros has announced a head of UK and international wealth planning and boosted the division with five “strategic” hires.

Andrew Dixon has been promoted to the newly-created leadership role having been a wealth planner with Kleinwort Hambros since 2013.

Dixon will aim to grow the wealth management team’s capabilities across London, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar, reporting to head of private banking Paul Kearney (pictured).

The firm has also hired Sandra Kaspar as an international financial planner. She joins from a Swiss family office and brings more than 15 years’ experience from other roles in Geneva with HSBC Private Bank and Coutts.

Pensions specialists 

Mehareen Ali has joined as a chartered financial planner from Sanlam. She has experience in pensions having spent several years at one of the UK’s leading pensions consultancy firms.

In addition, Thomas Crowther, also a pensions specialist, has been appointed as a senior paraplanner from Close Brothers Asset Management. He has knowledge of defined contribution and final salary pensions from time at Aon and Capita.

Luisa Rua-Estrada has joined the team of wealth planning assistants as a senior administrator. She moves from London & Capital where she performed a similar role supporting portfolio managers and wealth advisers.

Brooks Macdonald wealth planner to join

Kleinwort Hambros also announced Jane Stedman will join the firm in January as a wealth planner. Stedman is a certified financial planner who joins from Brooks Macdonald and has previously worked at Grant Thornton, Duncan Lawrie and Arbuthnot Latham.

Kearney said: “With ever-increasing demand for holistic advice, we are focused on developing thoughtful and tailored financial strategies for our clients and their families. We are excited for our clients to benefit from the experience and knowledge of this strong wealth planning team.”

On Tuesday it was announced Kleinwort Hambros is losing director and discretionary fund manager Paul Surguy to Kingswood in January to lead the investment management business.
