The former strategist from the Guinness family office and the lead manager of the Iveagh Wealth Fund will head up Kestrel’s investment management division and launch a new global multi-asset fund over the next few months.

“We have assembled a very good and large team of professionals,” said Ricciardi. “Ultra high net worth and family office investors are very open practical ideas of investment and are not tied down by institutional pathways. We will provide the rigours of a formal institutional approach while recreating the kinds of funds I have been developing throughout my career.”

“John’s experience and expertise on strategic and tactical asset allocation will be a great asset to our business,” Kestrel Partners chairman Ari Zaphiriou-Zarifi said. “His strong track record demonstrates his specialist knowledge in this space, and it will bring a new element to our offering. We look forward to working alongside him.”

Prior to his tenure at Iveagh, Ricciardi headed up global asset allocation at Alliance Bernstein and was chairman and founder of Bullrun Financial, now part of Quantal International Inc, which providers of on-line fund management analytics.

Ricciardi also co-founded Cursitor Management, one of the first international firms to provide top-down, global asset allocation investment products.
