Kames Capital has announced changes to three of its global equity funds as it reveals fund manager duo Craig Bonthron and Neil Goddin (pictured) have left the business.

The pair were co-managers on the Kames Global Equity, Global Sustainable Equity and Global Equity Market Neutral funds.

Alongside the global equities duo, Kames announced Jonathan Parsons, who was an investment manager in the equity team, along with Ryan Smith in the ESG team, have also left the business.

Kames chief executive Stephen Jones said: “The market in which we operate is very competitive and one which has seen a lot of changes. Despite our strong team-based approach, we are not immune from these changes.

“These departures give us an opportunity to develop and refresh our investment team by promoting from within and recruiting externally, where appropriate.”

Kames’ replacements for global equity funds

The Kames Global Sustainable Equity fund will now be managed by Andrei Kiselev, who only recently joined the asset manager, and Malcolm McPartlin. They will be supported by Audrey Ryan, who manages the Kames Ethical Equity Fund.

David Pringle becomes manager of the Kames Global Equity Market Neutral Fund, while Michael Nicol and Euan Weir take over as co-managers of the Kames Global Equity Fund.

McPartlin and Pringle are already co-managers of the Kames UK Equity Absolute Return fund.

Kames said the changes will have no impact on the investment processes or strategies of the funds. It emphasised its team-based approach, which is supported by a 24-strong equity investment team.
