Kames Capital has hired a business development manager to strengthen its UK wholesale distribution team.

Alex Beck will be based in the firm’s London office covering clients across the South East of England, including wealth managers, financial advisers, funds of funds, family offices, platforms and banks.

He will report to Kames Capital head of sales Mark Savage.

Beck (pictured) previously worked at venture capital investment specialist Oxford Capital as a senior manager, promoting the firm’s Enterprise Investment Scheme to IFAs, discretionary fund managers and family offices in London and across the South of England.

Before this he was a business development manager at RAM Capital, focused on the distribution of tax-efficient funds. He has also held sales roles at Columbia Threadneedle and BNY Mellon.

Savage said: “Alex brings great knowledge and experience to Kames and we are confident that the skills he brings to the team will allow us to grow our extensive client base.”

Kames Capital will be dropped as a brand this year as Aegon Asset Management seeks to merge its businesses into one global structure.
