Petheram’s appointment completes a number of management shifts made necessary by the departure of John Hamilton, the group’s head of fixed income following his tenure of 21 years.

Hamilton formally left Jupiter at the end of September and is said to have taken some time to go travelling before making his next steps in the industry known.

Petheram and Gunn were promoted to lead manage the Distribution Fund in the spring, with Anthony Nutt and John Hamilton kept on as deputy managers.

Now Nutt has also stepped back from his role in the Distribution Fund, leaving Petheram and Gunn to manage the fixed income and equity elements of the portfolio respectively.

Petheram joined Jupiter’s fixed income team in 2006 and had worked alongside Hamilton since then.

Prior to joining Jupiter he was an analyst at Towers Perrin Australia and before that a credit analyst for utilities at Moody’s investment services.

His co-manager on the Distribution Fund, Gunn, joined Jupiter in 2007 as an analyst for the UK Equities Team. Before Jupiter he held roles at Bear Stearns International and Arbuthnot Securities.
