Jupiter head of UK small and mid-cap equities Dan Nickols (pictured) is set to retire at the end of June.

He will also step down from his role as co-manager of the £121m Rights and Issues Investment Trust.

In a stock exchange announcement this morning (10 May), the trust said that co-manager Matt Cable will become lead manager following Nickols’s retirement.

Meanwhile, Tim Service will step up to head the Smid equities team at Jupiter.

Rights and Issues Investment Trust chair Andrew Hosty said: “Whilst we are sorry to learn of Dan’s intention to retire we have full confidence in the team’s succession plan and look forward to continuing the company’s relationship with Jupiter. We would like to thank Dan and wish him well with his retirement.”

Nickols joined Jupiter in 2020 following the firm’s takeover of Merian Global Investors. At Merian, he was head of UK small & mid caps.
