Diana Kiluta Amoa and Celina Apostolo Merrill took up their newly-created respective roles as senior portfolio manager and senior credit analyst at the start of the month.

Amoa joins JPMAM’s London-based local currency emerging markets debt team, working across as-yet-unspecified pooled and segregated rates and FX strategies under lead portfolio manager Didier Lambert.

Meanwhile, Merrill is based in the firm’s New York office, reporting to Emerging Markets Corporate Debt lead portfolio manager Scott McKee, assisting with research, valuation and portfolio management within the fund.

Returning to JPMAM for a second stint – the first being as fund manager between 2004 and 2007 – Amoa has garnered 11 years industry experience through roles with Standard Chartered, Societe Generale and UBS Investment Bank.

Merrill was previously head of EM corporate credit with Van Eck Global, prior to which she held positions with TPG Credit Management, Greywolf Capital and Goldman Sachs.

“We are delighted to welcome Amoa and Merrill,” said Pierre-Yves Bareau, JPMAM CIO and head of emerging markets debt.

“Their strong respective expertise in emerging markets debt further enhances our ongoing commitment to fundamental research as a building block of our investment process.”
