UK fund manager Jonathan Barber has left his position at Columbia Threadneedle after near 30 years with the firm.

Barber was lead fund manager of the CT Monthly Extra Income fund and the CT UK Monthly Income fund, which as of 30 June are managed by Dominic Younger who is currently deputy manager. Matt Rees replaced Barber as manager of the CT Managed Equity Income fund. There will be no change in the investment approach across the funds.

A spokesperson for Columbia Threadneedle Investments commented: “I can confirm Jonathan Barber left Columbia Threadneedle at the end of June. Jonathan has been a core member of our UK equities team for the past 30 years and we thank him for his many contributions and wish him well for the future.”

Barber joined in Threadneedle Asset Management’s merger creation in 1994, remaining with the company as it became Columbia Threadneedle in 2015.

Columbia Threadneedle also lost Scott Spencer, Kelly Prior, and Rob Burdett this year, following a company restructure in February.
