Janus Henderson has finalised its acquisition of a majority stake in global private credit firm Victory Park Capital, a deal that was first announced this August.

The acquisition comes as Janus Henderson expands its private credit capabilities, sitting alongside its securitised credit franchise. Victory Park Capital has provided private credit solutions since 2007, now with assets under management of near $6bn.

Ali Dibadj (pictured), CEO of Janus Henderson, said: “We are pleased to have completed this acquisition. The addition of Victory Park Capital complements Janus Henderson’s successful securitised credit franchise and provides our clients with a highly in-demand asset-backed-focused private credit strategy, allowing us to put our clients first – always. We look forward to supporting the VPC team in this next stage, expanding our private market capabilities for our clients, and enhancing our position in the global institutional market.”

Janus Henderson has about $36.3bn in securitised assets under management, and as a company as a whole, $361bn in AUM.

Richard Levy, CEO, CIO, and founder of Victory Park, said: “We are excited to join Janus Henderson, which shares our client-centric approach and commitment to disciplined investing. Our partnership will allow us to further accelerate VPC’s growth and build on our nearly two decade-long track record of providing customised private credit solutions to both established and emerging businesses.”

Brendan Carroll, senior partner and co-founder of VPC, added: “This acquisition underscores VPC’s position as an established, global private credit manager specialised in asset-backed lending. We look forward to reaching a broader set of clients through Janus Henderson’s global distribution platform and enhancing our differentiated product offering and proprietary origination channels for the benefit of our investors and portfolio companies.”

Janus Henderson also acquired Tabula Investment Management earlier this year, joining the European ETF market.
