Andrew McCarthy will join Janus Henderson on 9 July as co-manager on its European long-only funds and mandates, working alongside head of European equities, John Bennett (pictured).
McCarthy joins from Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) Investment Management, the investment arm of the £50bn pension scheme for university lecturers, where he was a portfolio manager specialising in industrial and consumer sectors.
He has also held positions at Capital International Research and is a CFA charterholder with 19 years’ experience in the industry.
Bennett said: “Andrew has an impressive track record and demonstrated outstanding stock picking talent, which fits well with our high conviction approach. He brings a wealth of experience to our long-standing European equities team and his addition to the team will further strengthen our offering to clients.”
