Jane launches multi-asset fund at Darwin Group

The Darwin Group has launched the TM Darwin Multi Asset Fund, aimed at the retail market.

Jane, who joined Darwin Group in September 2010 as managing director, was previously head of equities investments at M&G.

The fund, which intends to achieve capital preservation “in difficult markets” as well as providing attractive returns over the long-term, will be managed by Thesis Unit Trust Management and advised by Darwin Property Investment Management.

“It’s hugely exciting to launch the TM Darwin Multi Asset Fund within the retail marketplace. I believe there is a genuine and substantial market need for outcome driven investment products. I am very excited to launch this fund at this point in the market cycle”, said Jane.

Darwin says the fund will invest across a broad range of asset classes using Jane’s thematic approach to stock selection. In March, Jane told Portfolio Adviser that he would buy a combination of direct securities – probably anywhere between 40 and 60 – with other equity positions coming through exchange-traded funds; bonds to reduce volatility rather than for income generation; gold ETFs and commodity ETFs.

The fund launches today, Thursday 19 May, and has a three-week offer period.
