Horniman was a team leader and portfolio manager in the UK domestic business for UBS WM and was responsible for a team managing over £500m.
Prior to his stint at UBS WM Horniman spent over five years at HSBC Investment Management where he was also a director and team leader, in the UK private client business.
He becomes the ninth partner at James Hambro & Partners, an independent private asset management firm which oversees assets of more than £1bn.
His role is to strengthen the investment led Culture at James Hambro during what it hopes to be a period of growth following the recently announced merger with independent financial planning firm Calkin Pattinston.
Charles and Paul Calkin became partners in James Hambro & Partners following the acquisition, with the new business described as “ideally positioned” to win new business from clients, “particularly those dissatisfied with the service offered by the large banks.
