Joe Linhares has been replaced by Rachel Lord as head of iShares EMEA as the firm looks to further grow its share of the European market.

After three years as head of iShares EMEA, Linhares is to return to New York as global head of BlackRock’s platinum client programme, working with the firm’s largest global distributors. He will report to Rob Fairbairn, head of BlackRock’s global retail and iShares businesses.

Based in London, Lord, who reports to Mark Wiedman, global head of iShares, was global head of corporate equity derivatives at Citigroup. She has 20-plus years experience, including 13 with Morgan Stanley, in sell-side roles as well as managing teams in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

She joins Jane Leung who is head of iShares across Asia, with Daniel Gamba and martin Beaulieu as co-heads of iShares in the US.

According to Wiedman, part of her role will be to increase the ways clients in Europe use ETFs.
