More than a third of managers (33%) also expect the FTSE 100 to finish between 7000-7500 by the end of the year, while 17% expected the figure to be north of 8000. Only 8% predicted it would close below 4000.
A bullish 76% of managers expect equities to outperform other asset classes next year, but among the worrying issues they thought could affect them were Brexit negotiations, which 9% were worried about, and 14% of managers were concerned about rising interest rates.
For the first time, global warming made it onto the list with 9% of managers worrying it could be a threat to equities next year, a change on last year when no fund managers selected it as a concern.
