Investec Wealth & Investments has poached Brewin Dolphin’s head of office for Bristol for its new office in the city as it merges with its Bath operations.
Alex Barrell (pictured) will be divisional director of the Temple Quay office, leading 22 people.
All employees of IW&I’s Bath office are transferring to Bristol due to a period of expansion. The Bath office had hired five new individuals over the last 12 months.
The Bristol office will continue to service the Bath area.
Barrell said: “The Bath team has a great reputation in the area, growing client business to the extent we have now outgrown our offices. The move to Bristol is a logical next step, as we seek to extend our offering in the South West.”
IW&I has about £38bn funds under management and around 1,400 staff.
