The Investec Global Franchise Fund is an onshore version of the firm’s offshore GSF Global Franchise Fund, which has delivered top decile performance over one, three and five years, according to the firm.

It will invest in a concentrated global portfolio of high quality companies selected for their “robust franchises” and which are attractively valued by the market.

The strategy is managed by Clyde Rossouw and in the 12 months to the end of August the offshore equivalent has returned 16.4% versus 9.9% from the benchmark.

Meanwhile, the company is launching two emerging markets-focused funds, a blended debt fund and an equity fund.

The fixed income offering will be managed by Peter Eerdmans, head of the emerging market debt (EMD) team and provide investors access to a blended form of both local and hard currency exposure to EMD.

The EM equity fund is run by Archie Hart, supported by the Global 4Factor Equities team.

David Aird, managing director, UK client group, Investec Asset Management, said: “The launch of our onshore Global Franchise Fund allows UK investors to access a global equity investment strategy with a proven track record of outperformance and capitalises on the continued globalisation of clients’ portfolios. Launching these two further onshore emerging market funds also offers our clients another means of tapping into what we view as an exciting long-term secular growth story.”
