Investec Wealth & Investment has hired Justine Lobel, nee Colley (pictured), as an investment director for London.
Lobel will focus on delivering Investec’s wealth proposition to high net worth clients. She will also work in partnership with its private banking arm.
She joins from Sanlam Private Wealth where she spent over four years providing discretionary portfolio management services to private clients, trusts and corporates.
She brings more than 11 years’ experience having worked at Tilney, Towry and HSBC.
Alex Charalambous, regional head and director of private clients for the South and London, said: “Over the past 18 months, we have worked to pull together the two distinct, yet complementary, services of financial planning and investment management to provide our direct clients with a holistic approach to looking after their wealth.

Building up a team
The wealth manager said Lobel’s appointment was the latest in a series of hires as Investec seeks to bolster its team of investment managers and financial planners.
In November 2021, our sister publication International Adviser reported that Investec W&I had added two directors to its Glasgow office. Arlene Ewing joins as divisional director and Sammer Nabi is named senior investment director.
Ewing was previously assistant director at Brewin Dolphin in the city, while Nabi was a wealth relationships manager at Fidelity International.
In September last year, Simon Taylor was one of three people to join Investec W&I’s intermediary sales team.
He was previously a global strategic client director for the Americas at Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Louise Slade joined from HSBC Asset Management, while Ed Walker was previously a business development director at Quilter Cheviot.
