The specialist investment manger, which has an international client base in the Americas, the UK and continental Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Africa, said the move further expands its $13bn multi-asset capability.
Spinks joins from Schroders where he spent seven years as co-manager of the £4.5bn Diversified Growth Fund and was a member of the global asset allocation committee. At Investec he will be working with Philip Saunders, global head of multi-asset investments.
Domenico Ferrini, co-chief investment officer at Investec Asset Management, said that the team aims to capture investment opportunities that are evolving in the sector.
