Asad Bhatti has been promoted from his former senior analyst role with the firm, joining fixed interest co-heads Paul Causer and Paul Read in the running of the fund on 25 February.
Invesco said that the promotion is in recognition of Bhatti’s contribution to the company since arriving as a fixed interest credit analyst from Abbey National Treasury Services in 2002.
Bhatti specialises in high yield, but his remit also covers retail, consumer, packaging, travel, mining and building materials, among others.
As a result of the promotion, the firm will balance its analyst team staff numbers with the recruitment of an entry-level analyst.
Causer said: “Bhatti has provided the team with high quality and expert analysis for more than a decade and his input has contributed immensely to the success of the fund and the wider fixed interest franchise.”
