Interactive Investor has boosted its research team with a hire of a senior fund analyst from the Share Centre.
Tracy Zhao (pictured) has joined as a senior fund analyst to pick ideas for II’s Super 60 and Ace 40 rated lists.
At the Share Centre she worked on fund research, analysis and MI reporting.
II acquired the Share Centre in a deal first announced in February 2020 before completing in July 2020.
II head of funds research Dzmitry Lipski described Zhao as a “hugely talented and experienced investment professional”.
He added: “Everything we do is geared towards helping customers make confident and informed investment decisions and we are delighted to have Tracy on board.”
II has also added to its spokesperson team by hiring IG Group’s Victoria Scholar in the newly created role of head of investment.
Scholar will discuss the daily business news agenda, II’s investment strategy and asset allocation, collective investments and direct shares, as well as macroeconomics and markets.
At IG Group, Scholar was a financial journalist and presented business news on IG’s TV channel. She has previously worked at Bloomberg, CNBC and BBC, having started her career on the trading floor at Nomura.
II head of personal finance Moira O’Neill said: “We are delighted to welcome Victoria Scholar to our high-calibre team of investment professionals and commentators. She brings considerable experience of analysing fast-moving markets, and, with her background in macro-economics, she is ideally placed to help satisfy the growing demand for informed views on broader investment topics beyond stock and fund ideas.”
