Lead by chief investment officer Guy Bowles, the multi-manager fund aims to deliver a return substantially ahead of cash over rolling five year periods. It invests across open-ended funds, investment trusts and ETFs, as well as holding direct exposure to commercial property and commodities.

The fund was designed, in part, to leverage off the Ingenious’ existing investment process – the firm already manages over £1bn of assets in a strategy which seeks to limit losses in falling markets. A proprietary risk modelling tool, efficient frontier, identifies sources of risk within the portfolio while simultaneously indicating ways of improving the efficiency of the model’s asset allocation.

Two share classes, for retail and institutional investors, are open to a minimum investment of £1,000 and £100,000 respectively.

Ingenious Asset Management sits alongside the advisory group’s other businesses: the alternative investments business, Ingenious Investments, the private equity division, Ingenious Ventures, as well as Ingenious Corporate Finance, which provides advice on strategy across a wide range of transactions focusing particularly on the media, entertainment and communications sectors.
