Previously head of UK wholesale at Ignis Asset Management before it was bought by Standard Life, McBride has spent more than 20 years in the industry. During that time, McBride has also held senior at Lazard Asset Management, Janus International Ltd and Henderson Global Investors.
Steve Haswell, Head of Distribution for MIM EMEA, said that the wealth of experience McBride brings to the role will help focus the group’s presence within the professional market and complement Macquarie’s efforts in the UK institutional and consultant spaces.
McBride said: “MIM, with AUM of €247 billion, is a significant global fund business which is going from strength to strength. Its specialist expertise across a range of income, growth and absolute return capabilities offers a compelling proposition for UK investors. I am looking forward to building a substantial and sustainable UK asset management business.”
