His appointment is to take the role of Graham Kane who retired as head of UK retail at UBS in November last year.
Hutton joins from Zurich Intermediary Group where he was northern head of distribution and platform proposition.
His responsibilities will be to develop the UK wholesale business through an eight-strong sales team that already has £2.3bn in assets under management.
Prior to joining Zurich Intermediary Group, Hutton ran Fidelity International’s IFA sales team from 2006 and before this he had various roles with Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Invesco Perpetual.
He reports to Rob Lay, head of wholesale, Europe and the Middle East.
