HSBC man heads to Brooks Macdonald

Wealth manager James Surcouf is to leave HSBC Global Asset Management after 12 years to join Brooks Macdonald’s Jersey branch it was announced on Monday.

Previously a discretionary wealth manager for HSBC at their Jersey base, Surcouf will join the Brooks Macdonald team in the Channel Islands as an investment manager responsible for building client relationships and managing discretionary portfolios for professional advisers and trustees as well as high net worth private clients.

He has more than 15 years’ experience in international financial services and is a chartered wealth manager and fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

Darren Zaman, international CEO at Brooks Macdonald, said: “I welcome James to our team in the Channel Islands. Given our leading role in driving Brooks Macdonald’s international growth strategy, hiring experienced and qualified investment professionals is key.”
