Shaw joins from fixed income advisory specialist Promethion where she had been managing director since 2009. The role has been newly created, a spokesperson said.
She has been in investment banking and asset management for 30 years previously working as founder and managing partner of New Bond Street Asset Management LLP and holding senior roles at BGB UK Plc, WestLB and Bank of America.
Shaw will be tasked with creating a range of specialist credit capabilities that leverage Hermes’ ‘unique ownership structure’ and report into chief executive Saker Nusseibeh.
“Attracting top talent is key and we are extremely pleased to be welcoming someone of Zoë’s calibre to Hermes,” said Nusseibeh.
“Zoë brings with her a wealth of knowledge and industry experience, and will play an integral role in creating a range of specialist credit capabilities which will give clients the opportunity to invest in hard to access areas of the fixed income spectrum,” he added.
