De Bunsen will be responsible for specific client portfolios as well as adding to the general investment expertise of the team.
He previously worked at Armstrong Investment Managers for two and a half years where he was a portfolio manager on its IM Distinction Real Return Fund.
Before that he spent five years at Insight Investment as an investment analyst within its multi-asset team.
Henderson said it expected to announce further hires to Bill McQuaker’s multi-asset team in the New Year.
Last week it was announced Lanning would be running a new range of multi-manager funds for JP Morgan from Q1 next year, with management of his £158.14m Henderson Multi-Manager Absolute Return Fund falling to Bill McQuaker.
The Henderson multi-asset team will also be kept busy following the firm’s link up with Paradigm Group to run its investment proposition, which was revealed in October.
The initial offering from Paradigm’s investment management business, named Tatton Capital, will be a suite of four multi-asset funds run by McQuaker and team.
