Schroders has poached Jessica Miller from Hargreaves Lansdown to become head of proposition at its new financial advice joint venture with Lloyds, Portfolio Adviser can reveal.

Miller had spent seven years at Hargreaves, where she was most recently lead investment proposition manager.

Schroders’ personal finance director Claire Walsh (pictured) will also move roles and will now be head of advice strategy at Schroders Personal Wealth, which launched in June with 500 staff on day one.

In her role at Schroders, Walsh worked across communications, public affairs and business development. Prior to this she worked at Aspect8, part of Benchmark Capital.

At Schroders Personal Wealth, she will shape how the advice service is provided through its existing 300 advisers. Schroders has previously revealed it intends to ultimately employ 700 advisers for the finance advice arm.

Both Miller and Walsh will start in their new roles this month reporting to Schroders Personal Wealth chief commercial officer David Lawrence.

Lawrence said: “Jessica’s passion lies in helping people understand savings and investments. She has a deep understanding of client needs and proven experience in both product development and innovation.

“Claire has first hand knowledge and experience of personal finance, both from the adviser and client perspective. She is passionate about delivering an excellent service to clients and is an industry advocate in promoting the value of financial planning.”

Lawrence added: “Both will help in the design of a fresh and transparent financial planning service at Schroders Personal Wealth, with our client relationships and needs at the heart of any advancement in our services.”
