Hargreaves Lansdown has named Ruchir Rodrigues (pictured) as its chief client and commercial officer, making him a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Rodrigues is tasked with leading the firm’s client and commercial teams, and will decide their strategic direction. In addition, he is responsible for Hargreaves’ full range of products and services including active savings, advice, fund management, investment and retirement, and the firm’s corporate pensions business, and workplace services.
He replaces Ian Hunter, who is set to retire having joined the firm in 1997.
Before Hargreaves Lansdown, Rodrigues spent nearly a decade at Barclays, during which time he led the large-scale digital transformation of its retail banking business in the UK. Prior to that, he worked at Verizon for nearly 12 years.
He is also a board member of the Institute of Cancer Research and has been a non-executive director of Healthwatch England.
Hargreaves Lansdown CEO Chris Hill said: “Ruchir brings deep experience in scaling digital, data-driven and client-focused businesses which will drive the next phase of Hargreaves Lansdown’s transformation and growth. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Rodrigues, added: “I am excited by [the firm’s] ambitions to transform the savings and investing experience and I am very much looking forward to working with the team to drive the next phase of [its] growth.”
