Hargreaves Lansdown has appointed Brown Shipley’s investment head Toby Vaughan (pictured) as chief investment officer.
In the role, Vaughan will be responsible for the platform’s £8.6bn fund management business. He joined the firm on 31 May.
Vaughan was previously head of multi strategy solutions at Santander Asset Management, a fund manager at LV Asset Management, and director for asset allocation at F&C Asset Management.
His responsibilities include defining the investment strategy for Hargreaves Lansdown strategies and establishing the investment philosophy and process.
Ruchir Rodrigues, Hargreaves Lansdown chief client and commercial officer, said: “Toby is a highly experienced CIO and fund manager who joins from Brown Shipley where he has been responsible for the development of process, decision making and delivery of investment objectives on over €20bn of discretionary assets across the group product ranges.
“Toby has also been responsible for driving the creation of a centralised investment process, led transformation work and been heavily involved in projects to improve scalability. The Hargreaves Lansdown fund management business sits at the very heart of the growth element of our strategy, providing a wide range of investment solutions to help clients at every stage of their investing journey.”
