Hargreaves Lansdown adds former Coutts chief to board

Hargreaves Lansdown has appointed Michael Morley to its board as a non-executive director.

He will take up his seat in the investment platform’s boardroom from 1 August.

Morley has a career spanning three decades, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has held senior roles at a number of major firms.

From 2017 until 2022 he was CEO of Deutsche Bank UK and head of its wealth management business. Between 2009 and 2016, Morley was CEO of Coutts and Co.

He has also spent time working for Merrill Lynch and Barclays Wealth.

Morley said he is “delighted” to be joining the Hargreaves board.

“We’re pleased to announce we’ve appointed Michael Morley to our group board with effect from 1st August 2023,” Hargreaves Lansdown said in a statement. “Michael brings extensive financial services and risk expertise, strategic thinking, governance and regulatory experience combined with strong leadership skills.”
