Andrew Wood will focus on serving clients across the Cumbria region and Scottish borders.

He will work alongside Hazel Larkin, who last year became head of the Carlisle office following the retirement of Marilyn Salkeld.

Wood spent more 19 years at Brewin Dolphin, serving the Dumfries and Galloway area, overseeing portfolios for a range of clients including private investors, trusts, charities and pension funds. He left the Penrith office in September 2015.

Larkin said: “Andrew is a welcomed addition to the team who will help take us forward as we aim to extend the reach of our investment proposition on both sides of the English-Scottish border.

“His skill set and industry experience will be of considerable value to our business and his appointment will help us enhance the level of service we provide to our clients.”

In April, Hargreave Hale saw total FuM pass £7bn for the first time.

The firm employs more than 250 staff across nine offices in Bangor, Blackpool, Carlisle, Lancaster, London, Norwich, Nottingham, Worcester, and York.
