The new offering has a high conviction investment global equities strategy based on a fundamental, bottom-up approach.

It is structured as a new sub-fund of the UCITS-qualifying Luxembourg-domiciled Goldman Sachs Funds SICAV.

The ‘GSIS’ team is comprised of 50 investment professionals across four regions and is led by Raanan Agus and Kenneth Eberts.

“We seek to identify secular changes in industries, markets and consumer behavior that will positively or negatively impact companies,” said Agus. “We are typically looking for investment opportunities with uncorrelated risk/return profiles and identifiable catalysts,” he added. “We strive to build a portfolio with low directional exposure to equity markets and the flexibility and nimbleness to generate attractive performance in any market environment.”

“In the current market environment there is significant client demand to protect downside risk, said Nick Phillips, head of international third party distribution. Our clients are looking for alternative ways to invest in equities, with lower correlation to markets. For the first time, we are bringing the expertise and proven track record our team has delivered to institutional and qualified high net worth investors to a retail investing client base outside the US.”

The fund is available to institutional and retail clients and across Europe.
