According to a PDMR shareholding announcement, Gilbert has sold 1,631,343 shares at £3.25 each, part of his variable pay awards between 2011 and 2013.

Following the sale, Gilbert still holds a conditional interest in just under two million ordinary shares, representing 0.15% of the business. His aggregate conditional and unconditional shares total around 2.7 million.

Aberdeen has this year registered a mixed performance in tough market conditions, and it was one of the asset managers hit by the problems impacting property funds.
