Gaskell is taking a break to spend time with her family.

She is co-manager on the Blackrock Continental European Income, Blackrock GF Euro Markets and Blackrock GF European Equity Income funds, alongside Andreas Zoellinger.

Gaskell joinined Blackrock in 2006 following the merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where she started her career in 1994 managing Europe ex UK and eurozone equity portfolios.

Zoellinger, who has been Gaskell’s co-portfolio manager on the Continental European Income fund since inception in May 2011, will continue to act as portfolio manager once Gaskell departs.

He will also assume sole responsibility for the GF Euro Markets and GF European Equity Income funds, supported by the broader European equity team of 21 investment professionals.

Blackrock said the changes will not affect the current investment objectives or guidelines of the funds.

Matt Yates, head of research for the European equity team, will take on Gaskell’s responsibility as head of Blackrock’s commodities ‘research pod’.

The firm will also look to add additional senior commodities research resource this summer.
