Fulcrum promotes pair of portfolio managers to partner level

Fulcrum Income manager Stephen Crewe and head of equities Fawaz Chaudhry join fund group’s senior ranks

Fulcrum Asset Management has elevated portfolio managers Stephen Crewe and Fawaz Chaudhry to its Partnership.

Crewe joined the asset manager in 2013 and is the lead manager of Fulcrum’s Income and Equity Dispersion funds. He is also a member of the broader investment team, focusing on volatility strategies. He previously spent over two decades as director of alternatives for F&C Asset Management, which later became BMO Gam.

Chaudhry (pictured) has been at Fulcrum since 2017 and is head of equities. He is lead manager of the Fulcrum Thematic Equity Market Neutral Fund and Fulcrum Climate Change Fund. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Chaudhry worked as a portfolio manager at Hadron Capital, Moore Capital Management and BlueCrest Capital Management.

Crewe and Chaudhry’s appointments bring Fulcrum’s total number of partners to 12. Earlier this year director of sales and marketing Matthew Wright to partner also joined its ranks of partners.

Fulcrum chief investment officer Suhail Shaikh said Crewe and Chaudhry are “masters of their craft in their respective fields, generating significant value for our clients”.

He added: “Fulcrum is a firm which rewards effort and contribution, and Stephen and Fawaz’s promotions are testament to this philosophy, strengthening our firm for the long-term benefit of our clients.”

At the end of March 2021 the asst manager had around £3.5bn in assets under management.
