Semaan joins Fulcrum as a multi-asset strategist, a similar role to the one he held at Aviva.
According to Fulcrum, his appointment will provide further depth of resource to Fulcrum’s investment team.
Prior to working at Aviva, Semaan was a macro strategist at Friends Life Investments where he developed a global macro research structure to support the fixed income teams. Before this, he worked at Brandywine Global Investment Management as a global macro research analyst.
Andrew Stevens, chief executive at Fulcrum, said: “We continue to invest in attracting the highest calibre of investment professionals, believing that it is the intellectual rigour which we apply to asset allocation that sets us apart from our peers.
“It forms the bedrock on which our business is built and Marc’s excellent reputation for providing macro strategic insight will further enhance our capabilities.”
