Horne (pictured) will join the newly-created Fulcrum alternative strategies team and will report to Matthew Roberts, a partner at the firm.
He joins Fulcrum AM having worked as an independent asset management consultant in London and Paris.
Prior to this, he was a senior credit manager researcher at Willis Towers Watson and director of client services at Natixis Global Associates.
Roberts, who was poached from Willis Towers Watson in December, said: “Mark will be a tremendous addition to the team.
“His experience and expertise in the alternative credit markets will be crucial in helping us develop our range of solutions for clients.”
Earlier this month, Fulcrum AM launched a multi-asset income fund that aims to generate yield above the Bank of England base rates.
