Franklin Templeton has hired a senior sales specialist to push its exchange traded fund range in the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland.
Harriet Ssentongo has been appointed in the newly-created role to develop Franklin Templeton’s Ucits ETF platform Franklin Libertyshares in the domestic market.
She reports to Franklin Templeton head of ETF sales EMEA Caroline Baron.
Ssentongo (pictured) previously worked at HanETF as a director, Benelux and UK sales, responsible for clients in Switzerland, Finland, Benelux and the UK.
Before that, she was a director, private banking and wealth management sales for the UK and Ireland, as well as the Nordics and Switzerland at WisdomTree Europe.
She has also worked as a sales manager for the Nordics at Bloomberg.
Baron said Ssentongo will play a “key role” in the growth of FTI’s ETF business in the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland.
“This an important hire in a key market as we continue to expand our ETF business in Europe. We have strong ambitions in the region, and Harriet will enable us to accelerate that growth and penetrate additional segments of the UK market.”
FTI’s ETF platform has about $10bn (£7.8bn) in assets under management globally as of 31 August, including $4.7bn in active fixed income ETFs.
